Doan Family | Outdoor Spring Session at CedarCroft

Where to begin with this stunning family session, I love everything about it! This family of four are not only a beautiful family, but they were such a joy to work with. I absolutely adored meeting Roger and Nicolette with their two little girls who were as sweet as they come this past spring.

We photographed their family session outdoors at CedarCroft in Greenwood, La, which is a perfect location for a family session with small kiddos since it has large beautiful grounds with a variety of backdrops, and so much room for young kids to run and play! The trees on the property are gorgeous too, and the water fountain is the perfect spot to capture those last few rays of golden sunlight as the sun dips below the horizon.

This session is close to my heart since it filled my creative cup to the brim and overflowing! I love being able to tell a story through images, a family session (in my eyes) is so much more than just the traditional "smile at the camera" shot (although we did capture so many beautiful ones.) The images that capture how your toddler's hand fits in yours, the way your baby fits perfectly on your hip, the way dad and mom smile at each other and remember how it all began. The detail images are the ones that I am drawn to the most and that tell the full picture of your family! Seasons come and go, children grow and get taller, family dynamics change, but these images will forever be frozen in time. Much like a time capsule, you can return and remember these moments for years to come!

We were blessed with the most perfect sunny April evening and I had the absolute best time running around after their two adorable girls, they had so much fun energy and were so darling! I could have photographed this precious family all day. I was so impressed with the fact that not once did mom or dad get frustrated or worried about their little girls acting a certain way or smiling; they just let them be themselves. Roger and Nicolette embraced every moment and were present with each other. I was able to capture so many candid and genuine moments because they let their guard down and trusted me that the magic would unfold. And it did!
