Kevin + Brielle | Outdoor Maternity Session at Lake Bistineau State Park

Writer's picture: Carson Carson

Kevin and Brielle were the absolute cutest expecting parents ever and are as sweet and kind as they come. I loved getting the opportunity to meet them and document their last photos as a family of two before their baby girl made her arrival! They were so easy-going and went along with all the poses and ideas I threw their way, even the ones that seem a little awkward at first, haha. It definitely can be a little intimidating to be front of a camera, I totally get it! It does get a little easier though after a few minutes to get more comfortable and laughing at the awkwardness always helps too! Kevin and Brielle welcomed their precious baby girl only a couple months after these images were taken and I am so happy for them! I was honored to photograph baby Madeline's lifestyle newborn session just a couple weeks after she was born and I can't wait to share them over here soon, they turned out so gorgeous.

I always love photographing families at Lake Bistineau State Park located in Doyline, La, and the photos are proof as to why. The gorgeous Spanish moss trees overlook the bayou, it is beautiful no matter the season and is a neutral backdrop that allows you and your family to shine. I absolutely loved Brielle's two maternity looks she chose! Her dusty pink gown looked stunning on her and showed off her precious baby bump; I loved her blue dress too that was a little more causal! I always leave it up to you to decide if you want one or two outfits. Having two different looks is great since you can change it up and get two looks in one session, but It's up to each client and how they want to approach it. Most of my clients decide to wear one dressy look (usually a more formal gown or dress) and then one more causal look (can also be a dress or jeans/cute top). Be true to yourselves and how you want to remember this special season in your life!

It couldn't have been more perfect weather on this winter day, the sun shone through the clouds and provided the most beautiful light. Towards the end of their session the sun went behind the clouds and wind rolled in, but it it just helped add a softer look and I don't think this session could have turned out better. I am so happy for these new adorable parents, congratulations again on your sweet new baby girl!
