I've loved being a part of capturing this precious family's big and small life moments over the past several years, from before they started a family to when they became parents for the first time and welcomed their first baby girl. Now, they are a family of four and I have absolutely loved documenting Bradie's first year of life much like her big sister!
Bradie was only 6 days old when we captured her newborn photos, she was so tiny and adorable! There is something extra special about photographing a fresh from heaven new baby, it just never gets old! (Especially when they are so very sleepy like miss Bradie here, she let me move her all around and didn't even make a make a peep.) I dusted off the ol' bean bag for this session and they turned out so sweet and classic. I don't use it much like I use to but I still adore a newborn on a simple, all white background. It's so timeless and all the focus is on them and their sweet little features!
I loved the clothing choices mama picked for her family to wear, the neutral color palette is absolute perfection, you can never go wrong with soft neutral tones! It complements the light and airy style I gravitate towards and can help make your images look brighter compared to wearing moodier colors (and, as a bonus, it also acts as a natural reflector). Neutral colors photographs beautifully especially when you mix textures and patterns, this mama's adorable gingham dress was the cherry on top to add some interest and tie it all together. When putting together outfits for a photo session, I always recommend low contrast patterns (such as gingham like this example, or small florals) compared to something more bold and contrasty. Subtle patterns add beautiful texture without being too busy.
Bradie Kate was a dream for her session and it was so fun watching Logan step into her new role as a big sister! As always, enjoy.
